2025 Scholarship Application
The Jacksonville Jazz Society (JJS) is a volunteer, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit membership organization created in 2009
comprised of jazz enthusiasts dedicated to the preservation, promotion and presentation of Jazz.
Co-founders Wayne H. Barlow (deceased) and Na’im Rashid, being extremely passionate about
Jazz and educating future generations about this magnificent art form, established the Wayne H.
Barlow Scholarship in 2012 to further jazz education by providing financial assistance to
talented, deserving students whose curriculum is focused on jazz studies. JJS presents the $2,500
individual awards to selected recipients at its Wayne H. Barlow Scholarship Fund Annual Fall
fundraiser event. Scholarship applications are available online or for downloading at
www.jacksonvillejazzsociety.org on an annual basis. If a student is not selected, he/she may re-
submit an application each subsequent year, however, all award recipients are limited to
accepting one (1) Wayne H. Barlow Scholarship award per lifetime.
